LinkedIn is growing fast - and now has 187 million users worldwide. By comparison, Facebook recently passed one billion active users and Twitter is estimated to have as many as half a billion users.
Still some way to catch-up - but as they improve their smartphone apps (the iPad one is particularly good) - and carry on integrating with organisational tools (like calendar) - it really will become part of the daily routine, as it competes for the users time.
Schools can really take advantage of this loyalty - for both alumni relations, careers help and larger fundraising.
Like all these things - schools need a ‘Socially Integrated’ strategy to make it work for them. This cannot be done in isolation - and with the right guidance, LinkedIn can really work for your school.
